London Fields Radio Presents returns on March 22

And we’re back! We’ll be whirling up a mid-week, festivalesque storm of disco, hip hop, pop and bass that’ll ruin your Friday morning. The best bit? It’s ruddy free to get in!

Presenters taking to the decks are:

BLONDE AMBITION (The Blonde Ambition Show)
Deanne Oliver-Evans aka Blonde Ambition is a party popper personified with her excitable gyrations, high energy tunes and funky-fresh mixes. She hosts successful party ‘Lovesick’ at The Shacklewell Arms in Dalston and, when not touring the UK festival scene, can be found falling out of London Fashion Week after-parties and spinning the soundtrack for ‘Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model’. Deanne not only DJs and promotes but is pleased to add presenter to her bow, hosting the Blonde Ambition Show on LFR. www.soundcloud.com/blonde-ambition.

OLIVER KEENS
Oliver Keens is the worst celebrity DJ in the world. He can mix and he has taste in music. Plus nobody knows who he is. Despite all these setbacks, he’s thrived across festival land (Bestival, Isle of Wight, Standon Calling, Secret Garden Party) and has shared stages with heroes old and new, from Grandmaster Flash to Jackmaster. Being a music writer for the likes of Time Out and Juno Plus means he’s kept topped up with the latest musical mood swings, but if you think he’s above playing Faith Evans’ ‘Love Like This’, you sir would be dead dead wrong. www.soundcloud.com/oliverkeens. Watch out for his inaugural show on LFR very soon!

BETHNAL DREAMS (Nite Bites)
Bethnal Dreams is the flourescent-lit, tropical and triple-X DJ alter ego of Kate Hutchinson, Time Out’s Clubbing editor and station manager and programmer at London Fields Radio. When she’s not spinning red-hot rockabilly and rock ’n’ roll like it’s 1957 at parties like Stumblin’ Slims and Boom Boom Club, she’s dropping bass down low and exploring her love for everything from R&B remixes and disco-pop re-edits to funky house, garage and the rest of east London’s underground club music.www.mixcloud.com/katehutchinson.

LFR Pop-up: Room Service

London Fields Radio is on tour again and this time we’re broadcasting, pop-up style, from a slick suite in the brand new Aloft Excel hotel in London. Expect the usual LFR banter and great music selections, with guests from the Aloft party dropping by for a chat.

In the first show of the evening, LFR’s Kate Hutchinson and Deanne Oliver-Evans, who host the Nite Bites and Blonde Ambition/Lovesick shows, take Aloft-goers on a journey through rock ’n’ roll’s sordid hotel history, from the Chelsea to the Riot House to Aloft, with an interview with the lovely Sam from parkour performers 3Run in-between.

Nite Bites, Vol. 3

Nite Bites returns after a lengthy hiatus (oops) to dig out another corner of London’s diverse nightlife scene: dancehall. Your host and Time Out’s Clubbing editor, Kate Hutchinson, talks to UK dancehall linchpin Gabriel Heatwave about the sound in east London, the parties, the producers and the music – and also looks further afield as Toronto dancehall-pop duo Bonjay swing past the studio for a cup of tea and a strawberry cupcake.

You’ll hear new dancefloor-fuelled tracks from the likes of Hudson Mohawke and Wiley, some of the dancehall scene’s big ones and Kate also looks ahead to some of the future electronic stars at Sonar festival in Barcelona this year in a mini-sonic round-up.

See the video for ‘Stumble’.

Nite Bites, Vol. 2

In the second of her Nite Bites podcasts, Time Out Clubbing editor and music journalist Kate Hutchinson is joined in the café by east London party renegades Disco Bloodbath to talk about all things disco, from the beginnings of Disco Bloodbath in a lurid pink Caribbean restaurant in Stoke Newington to their brand new productions via an equally as new Hello Kitty disco compilation (which they don’t like that very much at all). Expect quirky – and sometimes awkward – chat and the latest floor-filling, hip-wiggling tunes to shake it all off to.
